Grok Bot 0.70.2: App Cards, Payments, and Better Controls
Brought to you by Jellypod AI. This rundown covers Grok Bot 0.70.2’s interactive app cards, payment and approval safeguards, PDF and audio support, team approvals, and computer controls. It also separates official release notes from community reports about version 0.71.2’s Windows 11 local-tools issue.

What Shipped in 0.70.2

Brought to you by Jellypod AI. It's October 19, 2026, and this is your Grok Bot release notes rundown. Last episode we covered the X Subscription shared weekly pool, Grok Voice 3.0, and the first reports of desktop version 0.71.2 locking Windows 11 users out of local tools. Today we pick that thread back up with what support engineers and users found over the weekend, October 16 to 19. But first, the official release that most of this sits on top of.

The latest entry on the official changelog is version 0.70.2, dated October 11. It also rolls in 0.69.0, 0.69.1, 0.70.0 and 0.70.1, so if you skipped a few updates, this is where you catch up. One caveat: the official log we pulled stops at 0.70.2. Everything I say about 0.71.2 comes from community forum reports, not release notes.

Start with the in-chat apps. Connectors that come with an app, such as Figma, Notion, and Canva, can now show that app as an interactive card right in the chat. So instead of a link that sends you out to a browser, you work with the thing inside the thread. If you've been bouncing between tabs to review a Canva design a Bot made, this is the fix.

Next, money. Bots can now pay with X Money or Stripe Link. The changelog also says that before an action it can't undo, such as sending, posting, buying, or deleting, a Bot checks your own messages for approval. So the checkout is handled, but you stay the final yes. And after a bank or brokerage connector returns data, the Bot asks before sharing it anywhere else. That's the guardrail I'd want.

Documents and media. A Bot can save a web page as a PDF from its browser, and it can send audio files like MP3, M4A, and WAV. The full screen video player gets a speed menu, and voice calls now offer 0.5x speed. A practical use: have a Bot capture a pricing page as a PDF before a vendor changes it, then send you the file.

For teams, teammates can now approve Auto review requests, including Always allow, from their own direct message with a Team Bot. You don't have to route that decision through a shared thread. And if you add an MCP server on a private Tailscale network, Grok Bot now explains it can't reach it yet and suggests exposing it with Tailscale Funnel. That replaces a confusing failure with an actual instruction.

A few quality of life items too. Press Cmd+F or Ctrl+F on an open page to get a Find in page bar. You can rename a page from its title. Computer settings now separate Your computer from the Bot's computer, and when the Bot's computer is asleep, the Computer tab shows a Wake button that wakes it in place. Also worth knowing: Bots can claim their own email address, with outgoing mail waiting on a draft card for your approval, and they can search X without you connecting an X account.
